Anu Ylisaukko-oja leads a busy everyday life as an entrepreneur running a family home. Besides her and her partner, the family includes six foster children. The business also involves two other couples who run family homes, as well as a shared children's home unit. So there's no shortage of parties and events in their lives.
– Children's birthdays, confirmations, christenings, carers' milestone birthdays, farewell parties… Anu Ylisaukko-oja lists with a laugh.
To make the busy celebrations easier, Ylisaukko-oja is happy to order the treats for the coffee table from Hyväkakku. She came across Hyväkakku back in the company's early years.
– I came across Hyväkakku unexpectedly while browsing online. I thought, wow, what a great concept – you can pick up the cakes exactly when it suits you best, Ylisaukko-oja describes.
Pretty soon, Hyväkakku's cakes became a routine part of their celebrations. Ylisaukko-oja reckons they order as many as twenty ready-made cakes a year from Hyväkakku.
– For the children's birthdays, we always ask the birthday child what they'd like for their layer cake. We've had Spider-Man, Hulk, a digger, Winnie the Pooh and all sorts. We've been able to enter these wishes in the additional information field of Hyväkakku's Cake Designer. Every time, all our wishes have been met – and even exceeded! Ylisaukko-oja says happily.
According to Ylisaukko-oja, besides being beautifully decorated, the cakes also taste delicious – the fillings have been a hit with children and adults alike.
– Not once have there been any cakes left over after a party, Ylisaukko-oja says.

Every flavour tested
Besides layer cakes, they have ordered sandwich cakes (voileipäkakku), cheesecake and brownies for their celebrations. Anu Ylisaukko-oja laughs that over the years they have surely tried every flavour. The top favourite, though, might be the Raspberry & Pätkis cake that the whole gang loves.
– That cake is our absolute favourite! Other favourites include the Brownie Mud Cake, which is really moist and melts in your mouth. The cheesecakes are really good, and we've also ordered tasting pieces of them for a cake buffet. Among the brita cakes, the new Mango & Passion Fruit was really fresh. And of course we often order sandwich cakes too, Ylisaukko-oja lists.
When a big group gets together to celebrate, picking up the refreshments and storing them can be a headache.
– That's exactly what's so brilliant about Hyväkakku! You can pick up the cakes from the pickup service even on the morning of the party, Ylisaukko-oja says with praise.
Hyväkakku's customer service also gets high praise from Ylisaukko-oja.
– Sometimes I've called and said, hey, would you have a spare cake for a party tomorrow? The answer is always yes – what decorations shall we add? Ylisaukko-oja says.
Although the family also bakes a lot themselves, Hyväkakku's cakes aren't disappearing from their party coffee table any time soon. On the contrary, word of the delicious cakes has spread to relatives and friends too.
– At parties, people ask where this cake is from and where they can get them. So I'm really very happy with Hyväkakku as a whole, Anu Ylisaukko-oja enthuses.
