In our first couple of years, we have organised all kinds of events. Cake buffets have been the most popular. This time we had planned a winter cake buffet together with Cafe Stiina. The event was set for Saturday 25 Jan. The cake buffet got lots of attention on Facebook before the day, and as it got closer, we started to wonder if there would be enough seats for everyone. Our partner Julia visited the cake buffet. Here is her account of the event.
The sun was shining in a cloudless sky and a light frost sparkled on a thin layer of snow as I arrived at the cake buffet at Cafe Stiina. A candle was burning in a lantern by the café door, and I could see happy people through the windows. When I stepped inside, it felt warm and welcoming, and everyone's smiles and good mood showed how pleasantly relaxed it was. – What better way to spend a Saturday than enjoying treats with family or friends?

Visitors kept coming all day, and at times it got really busy. There was a wonderful spread of savoury and sweet treats, from sandwich cakes (voileipäkakku) to macarons and all kinds of cakes (for example brita cake (meringue cake) & chocolate cake).
To balance out the sweets, there were of course savoury treats as well. Besides ham and salmon sandwich cakes, the table also had a vegetarian option. Every pastry was clearly labelled to show whether it was lactose-free and gluten-free.

The melt-in-your-mouth macarons got lots of compliments during the day, and it's no wonder. I think they are an excellent choice for a coffee table, both for everyday moments and for celebrations. You can order macarons in the flavours you like and in exactly the quantity you need (minimum order 20 pcs). You can find the colour and flavour options here.
The event turned out to be very popular, and it was lovely to see how many people chose to spend the sunny weekend at the cake buffet. At times the queue reached all the way outside and people had to wait a little for a free table, but most importantly – there was enough cake for everyone. We're already looking forward to the next event!
